It’s a brand new yr and apparently there are two mutually unique camps we will be a part of: resolution-maker or resolution-contrarian.
Possibly it’s my diehard New Yorker roots– however I fall loudly into the latter group.
However please don’t name me a cynic.
My query/argument is – do we have to stand on a pulpit loudly proclaiming the lofty objectives we’ll obtain once we get up on day #1 of a brand new yr?
Feels a bit performative to me. Or may it’s I’m only a tad reluctant to construct in slightly accountability?
I suppose I favor to quietly and privately (in any given month) – aspire, try, advance, attain, abandon, or amend – and repeat. Preserving objectives and desires slightly nearer to the chest helps me forgive my human failures with out the general public ignominy.
Living proof – a purpose to affix my expert friends and contribute month-to-month to our Heinz Advertising weblog on this new yr. And January, the primary month and inaugural weblog contribution. Properly… if I had been a resolution-ist, I’d have deliberate and proclaimed this resolution-themed weblog be delivered and posted by January 1st! However –as I’m within the different camp, not having spoken this out loud, right here it’s mid January and so far as I can inform no hurt/no foul. 😉
